Inspiration Ranch’s goal is to strengthen children, youth, and adults striving to overcome their physical, emotional, and social disabilities with Therapeutic Riding and equine-assisted therapy and activities. Over 80 special needs children and youth ride in their Therapeutic Riding Program to physically and emotionally strengthen their core muscles, improve their walking, and elevate their ability to communicate. Through their Mental Health Program, they reach people that have suffered severe emotional trauma.
As Inspiration Ranch reaches the halfway point of a Capital Campaign to cover the costs of its new 40-acre home in Magnolia, Texas, it does so with the help of the 2021 and 2022 Waste Connections Golf Classic for Kids and with a firm focus on what lies ahead for the clients it serves. Despite the uncertainty of Covid following the Ranch’s 2019 relocation, staff has pushed programs forward and focused on growth. The Equine-Assisted Therapeutic Riding Program increased capacity by 25 percent and will grow by another 33 percent before year-end. The Equine-Assisted Mental Health and Learning Program tripled its capacity between 2020 and 2021.
Inspiration Ranch’s leadership team, staff, and Board of Directors, led by Board Chair Michelle Little, Waste Connections Executive Director of Engagement Solutions/HRIS, stepped into the second half of 2022, and its Capital Campaign filled with excitement and anticipation for what is to come. Each day, they are driven forward with thoughts of those who need the power of their incredible therapy horses to help them grow and heal. And they are supported by the knowledge that corporations like Waste Connections and their industry partners trust the Ranch to leverage their generosity to offer hope, renew lives and inspire change.
