Our team with Waste Connections of Canada – Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada, presented a donation of 11,000 to Backpack Buddies. This organization provides backpacks full of food for schoolchildren to take with them on the weekends.
The district said, “These children would otherwise go hungry until returning to weekday classes where they were on the breakfast and lunch programs. As of early this year, the lunch program
had grown to support 1,000 schoolchildren with weekend backpacks. Today, they support 3,000 children 7 days a week due to COVID-19.”
